Truly a 4 Star - Plus hotel.

In a quiet part of the city, 2 miles from Sagrada Familia, the hotel is served by a tram and frequent cabs passing down Diagonal. Away from the tourist zones, we found this neighborhood a great place to decompress after sightseeing. There are several local restaurants embedded in the neighborhood near the hotel along with a quaint jazz club less than ten minutes away on foot. An adjoining shopping mall offers an extensive food market experience and a neighboring hotel offers space for a variety of restaurants and cuisines. The restaurant at the AC is terrific, offering nicely prepared dishes in a quiet atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and quiet - windows facing Diagonal are triple-glazed, corridors are carpeted, and no sound was heard from adjoining rooms. In fact the mini-bar refrigerator made most of the background sound. The staff is remarkably friendly and seem to genuinely care about guest command satisfaction. Anna, Uxia, Mar, Andres, Christian were so helpful during our five days in Barcelona. If you want to stay at a first-rate hotel, away from the crowds and C only ten euros away from the many sights by cab, there’s no place better in Barcelona than AC Diagonal d’Illia.

We are Marriot Bonvoy loyalists (heritage Starwood) and have stayed at hotels at all price levels around the world. We would rate this AC Marriot 5 stars based on value for the money (or points). While the location is not central, it was on a lovely avenue dotted with restaurants and shops. The hotel is actually adjoined to a nice mall if wanting a quick bite or shop. We were upgraded to a nice suite, but our kids regular room was also quite large, clean and new. The dining/bar/breakfast lounge area was very nice with an awesome breakfast. We appreciated the outdoor terrace which did allow smoking. The only negative was that it is in a business district surrounded by accounting firms, IBM, and the like, so the neighborhood is a bit sterile not charming.

Please note, I love Spain, Barcelona, sunny weather, beautiful hotels, great shopping and fine dining! So by opting to stay at the AC Hotel by Marriott Diagonal L’Ill, I had it all when I stayed here! This hotel is next door to a beautiful little park. While I was there, during the middle of March, the cherry tree were in full bloom, it was beautiful! I enjoyed chatting with the front desk staff members who provided answers to my many questions! Thank you to Uxia, Andres, Isivelis, Ana and Claudia, I certainly appreciate your help, advice and kindness. The location and the convenience of this hotel is perfect. The hotel is directly adjacent to one of the most amazing shopping centers I have ever visited. I could go on about it but, the best thing would be for you to check it out yourself. Also, be sure to try the AC Lounge on the second floor. The breakfast is an excellent way to start your day. And a big thank you to Venus and Ajay, you both do a fantastic job of keeping the buffet looking good! Thanks so much for a very enjoyable stay!

This hotel is terrific. Period. Mostly for business, as you’re not AT the tourist centers, but you’re a quick tram, bus, taxi or walk from everywhere. Service is friendly. The rooms are enormous and modern. Bathrooms are new and spotless. WiFi is great. The hotel is above a mall so everything you need is within reach. Outstanding.

I only stayed at this hotel for one night so I cannot really give a detailed feed. However a few things to comment. The room I stayed in is super clean and spotless. The room has all the amenities you need and given it’s a lower cost hotel, the standard is very good. AC is what you would call a basic functional hotel. It hits all the marks and checks all the boxes. Checkin is really quick and the desk manager was must helpful. Nearby you will find a mall with shopping and a food court. There are also a row of restaurants and bars behind. Spoilt for choice for dining.
